Аңдатпа
Summary. The article contains the author's reconstruction of the chronology and geography of the confrontation Between Shibanid Abu-l-Khair and the Tuk-Timurids Mahmud and Ahmad in the 1440s. for the First time, the study of this event is made using all available written sources in Russian, as well as a comprehensive analysis of historiography. In addition to specifying the dates and location, the questions of the biography of Bek Waqqas, who was long under Abu-l-Khair, the semantic content of the terms "Horde-Bazaar" and "throne of Sain Khan"are considered. Their actual and symbolic control was perceived by Pro-shibanid historiography as part of the vast khanate of Abu'l-Khair, and could also act as a symbol of supremacy over all Juchids. Polysemantic function and different interpretations of the use of the term in the sources do not allow to make a clear conclusion about its role in the described problem. Localization of military operations by the Ural river valley does not contradict the sources, based both on the experience of previous researchers and on the study of subjects recently introduced into scientific circulation texts of medieval chroniclers (for example, Utemish-Hadji).
