Abstract

The article describes the processes and events that took place on the territory of modern Kazakhstan in the second half of the XIV century, as well as the activities of the ruler of the Left wing of the Ulus of Jochi Urus Khan. In addition to summarizing all known materials, new original interpretations of historical sources are also highlighted, allowing for a more detailed reconstruction of the portrait of the era. Urus Khan is one of the main historical figures who confirm the absence of any gap between the history of the Golden Horde and the Kazakh Khanate. The article briefly outlines the main stages of its activity with an emphasis on controversial points, as well as its role and place in the history of the Kazakh statehood.
