ENGLISH HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE MIDDLE OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY ONTHE STUDY OF THE AGRARIAN HISTORY OF MEDIEVAL ENGLAND E.A.KOSMINSKY

The study of the historiographic heritage of English medieval of the middle and the second half of the twentieth century seems very relevant. The article is an analysis of the criticism of the concept of the agricultural history of England XIII century of the prominent Soviet scientific and medievist E.A. Kosminsky. The source database of the study is a variety of works of English historians of the middle of the XX-th century, M. Postan, T. Aston, R. Lennard, dedicated to the agrarian history of England of the medieval period, the time of formation of the economic foundations, culture and English feudal statehood.
In the center of the study - the scientific views of the English historians of the mid-XX-th century on the processes of economic and social development of the English village of the XIII century, their interpretation of the historical concept of the Soviet historian-Agrarian E.A.
Kosminsky. His approaches were analyzed to the role of English manor, its structures, influence on the socio-economic position of the peasantry. An assessment of the degree of scientific validity of the conclusions of the Soviet scientist, its methodological preferences. The authors came to the conclusion that in the work of E.A. Kosminsky continues the best traditions of the Russian school in the study of the agrarian history of medieval England. Without the development of this historiographic heritage, it is impossible to start writing the full history of feudal England.
