DEVELOPMENT OF FUNCTIONAL LITERACY OF STUDENTS IN THESTUDY OF CHEMISTRY

his article discusses the problem of improving the quality of teaching in the academic subject chemistry. Currently, the only way to improve the quality of knowledge in chemistry is to give students tasks that are close to real situations.
Accordingly, it should be noted that the work of PISA tasks is unique. In addition, the paper examines the importance of using the PISA assignment of educational and methodological complexes in order to develop functional literacy and research skills in students. The results are discussed in terms of the importance of the different sections of the teaching materials to improve students’ achievement. The content of the teaching materials and tasks at the end of each section contribute to the development of writing, reading and applying mathematical skills in chemistry. In addition, the content of the teaching materials is aimed at developing research skills in students.
