ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN THE GREAT STEPPE ANDCENTRAL ASIA
Abstract
The main types of economic activity in the Great Steppe and Central Asia during the period of the first millennium of our era are briefly outlined. It is shown that this vast part of the Eurasian continent once prospered and was advanced not only in the economic, but also in the intellectual aspect. Anthropologists have reasonably shown that technology in the broad sense of the word is a key factor in the development of human societies. And the proto-Turks were able to create advanced technologies for their time in order to use them in everyday life. Archaeological artifacts of the Andronovo culture testify that people who lived in the vast territory of present-day Kazakhstan and Southern Siberia 4-5 thousand years ago brought to perfection (the level of that era) the technology of metallurgy, pottery and weaving, used dyes and much more, which is proof of the existence of conscious human activity.
