INTERESTS OF MAJOR PLAYERS IN THE MIDDLE EAST. ANALYSIS OF THE ROLEAND INFLUENCE OF WORLD AND REGIONAL POWERS ON THE POLITICALSITUATION

Abstract

For decades, the Middle East and North Africa have attracted the
attention of the world community with interstate conflicts, coups d'etat and civil wars,
taking place with the direct or indirect participation of external forces.
This circumstance cannot but worry the political and expert circles of the
countries of Central Asia, which is still perceived in the West as a “chessboard” for
competition between world powers.
The author of the publication tried, through a brief analysis of the processes
taking place in the Middle East, to show that only political and state maturity, coupled
with the desire for effective regional cooperation, can provide the countries of Central
Asia with the role of not an object, but a subject of world politics.
