THE POLITICAL HISTORY OF BARAK KHAN IN THE ULUS OF JOCHI

This article examines the political activities of Barak khan in the Ulus of Jochi.
In the 1420s, Barak khan had a significant place in the political life of the Ulus of Jochi. Later his son, Zhanibek khan, together with Kerey khan, would lay the foundation of the Kazakh Khanate. In our study, we focus on the reconstruction of the events and chronology of the reign
of Barak khan, his relations with allies and opponents, as well as the consideration of numismatic finds that confirm his political control. The study uses comparative analysis, analysis of historical sources, numismatic analysis and systematization of data. Historical chronicles, records, numismatic data and the works of modern researchers have allowed a
deeper understanding of the complex processes of the struggle for power in the Ulus of Jochi, in
which Barak khan played a key role. The work makes an important contribution to the study of the political history of the region, restoring the sequence of events and clarifying the influence of Barak khan on the formation of power relations and the geopolitical situation in the region.
